A while ago, i was with a hunger for something cold and sweet so i went to this (see title) and got this one:
Anyhoo, I got on that very crispy cracker 3 nice flavors: Strawberries n' Cream, Chocolate Fudge Brownie and a local version of Eggnog called Ponche Crema. It was great!
Cheers!.
A while ago i went to this restaurant called Antigua and i had this trifecta of sherbets all in one serving:
They had a variety of flavors to choose from, about 10 or so, and i chose Tamarind, Mango and White Grapefruit.
It was tart, sweet and very fresh. I liked it a lot!.
This restaurant is located in the Las Mercedes section of the city of Caracas.
Some shots of the 2nd floor, where i was seated:
Continuing with my quest, i went to this cafè place called "Arabica Coffee Company", which is located in the Chacao district of the capital.
I went there and the service was dismal, and it took a long time for someone to appear...
What did i ask for? A brownie, since they had one on the menu, i asked for one...what did I get?
This one:
Why some? well, this chocolate-fruit cake was beyond dry, very crumbly and it felt like it sat there for a couple of days... i had to ask for a bottle of water just to wash it off.
here's a closer look:
chocolate cake right? am i not crazy?
here are some of the umbrellas at the open deck space where this cafè is located:
and finally, here's the front:
I was only too scared to asked for a carrot cake, i didn't even want to imagine what will they come up with...maybe a banana soup?
Cheers!
So, a while ago i went to this Korean-style restaurant called Din Din, which is actually the name of the house they work at.
It's not a real restaurant in the common sense of the word, since they don't advertise, they don't give out receipts and it's very hush-hush and it's only known to some gourmands and some people that get the invites. Sort of a "commando" restaurant, but without the moving around part.
They don't have a proper Menu, they don't serve desserts (only a cut tangerine, if it's available) and they don't serve drinks, you have to bring your own.
And yeah, it's run by Koreans in a place that looks more like someone else's dining room than a restaurant.
My choice of wine, was a pink sparkling one from Pomar, made mostly with Pinot Noir, and it was a great companion to the sometimes spicy offerings.
They told me the names of the dishes but i was dumb enough not to bring any pen or paper and i completely forgot the names of the dishes, so if anyone can recognize some of them , please feel free to name them!
Here we go:
First, here's the place's entrance:
I think this one was made of Jade, but i wouldn't be so sure about it...
All in all, everything was very tasty and it was very good, it was rather strange that i liked all the dishes.
Cheers!
and i thought it would never end! :
Here are the only food vendors at the venue, they were selling the very local Cachapas (see my blog entry about them) , i didn't try any Cachapas , but they sure looked nice.
And here are the flowers on sale:
A side view of the tents:
And finally, the CorpBanca Building where the event took place:
All pictures were taken by myself!
Cheers
